Brian Schriner has over 25 years of higher education teaching and administrative experience.<\/p>\n

In 2011 he was appointed Dean of the FIU College of Architecture + The Arts (CARTA). Under Brian\u2019s leadership and the faculty members\u2019\u00a0expertise, the College\u2019s academic\u00a0programs\u00a0have ascended to national prominence with a united mission\u00a0to deploy the power of architecture + the arts to engage the\u00a0global\u00a0community to create, innovate, and\u00a0inspire\u00a0solutions to social, economic, and environmental problems<\/em><\/p>\n

In support of that engaged mission, Brian\u00a0expanded the College to Miami Beach and launched CARTA | Miami Beach Urban Studios in the\u00a0iconic 420 Building on\u00a0Lincoln Road, where more than 100\u00a0graduate students in design, visual arts,\u00a0and the performing arts\u00a0work collaboratively with members of the community to solve real-world problems.<\/p>\n

Brian\u00a0has strategically grown the College\u00a0of Architecture + The Arts\u00a0from 1,200 students to more than 2,500\u00a0students and from\u00a070 full-time faculty members to close to 100 full-time faculty\u00a0members. He has also\u00a0raised over $7.5M in philanthropy and auxiliary revenues to support the College\u2019s\u00a0mission, and in less than four years the College has doubled its total annual revenues to $30 million.<\/p>\n

Through the Dean\u2019s strategic 2020 vision, CARTA will be recognized nationally as a preeminent college that operates at the forefront of integrated research, assessment, engagement and learning.<\/p>\n

In addition to his\u00a0administrative\u00a0work, Brian is an\u00a0accomplished author having published five books and\u00a0numerous scholarly articles. He\u00a0is\u00a0also\u00a0a past recipient of FIU\u2019s prestigious\u00a0Teaching Incentive Award, <\/em>has been named\u00a0Instructor of the Year,\u00a0<\/em>and has twice been named to FIU\u2019s College of Business Administration\u2019s\u00a0Circle of Excellence For Teaching.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
