The Armory Show – The Armory Show is New York City’s premier art fair and a leading cultural destination for discovering and collecting the world’s most important 20th- and 21st-century art. Staged on Piers 92 & 94, The Armory Show features presentations by over 200 leading international galleries, innovative artist commissions and dynamic public programs. Since its founding in 1994, The Armory Show has served as a nexus for the art world, inspiring dialogue, discovery and patronage in the visual arts.
The Armory Show was founded by four New York gallerists – Colin de Land, Pat Hearn, Matthew Marks and Paul Morris – who sought a platform to present and promote new voices in the visual arts. In its 24 years, The Armory Show has stayed firm to its mission while establishing itself as an unmissable art event set in the heart of New York City and welcoming over 65,000 visitors annually.
Baccarat Hotel – Founded in 1764, Baccarat Crystal is a manufacturer of fine crystal glassware located in Baccarat, France. The first hotel ever opened by this historic brand hosted the GFAA 2016 Finalist Announcement event on October 25 in New York City. Vastari builds technology products to help exhibition producers, venues, collectors and suppliers
connect worldwide to organize more meaningful exhibitions and bring them to the widest possible audience. Institutional curators have access to a database of items in private collections and can contact the owners directly to request them. Vastari Institutional Members can access over 700,000 works of art in private hands and browse through hundreds of exhibitions that can tour to their venues. Conversely, collectors can digitise their pieces and anonymously share them with museums, as well as accessing a list of requests published by museums and to which they can proactively respond.
Members consist of around 700 private collectors and over 3,000 curators and 600 museums, including 6 of the top 10 most visited museums worldwide.
GFAA is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purpose of GFAA are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
