We are excited and grateful to announce five new partnerships established in 2016, further assisting with the growth of the GFAA infrastructure and our global footprint.
(1) Frieze London and Frieze Masters – GFAA was delighted to host the press announcement event of our 2016 award nominees, during the Frieze London and Frieze Masters art fairs (October 2016).
(2) Vastari Group, Presenter of the GFAA Youniversal Award – Based in London, founded in 2012, Vastari Exhibitions Network is an online platform where museums can source privately owned pieces for their forthcoming shows, list and exchange exhibitions with other institutional and private venues around the globe.
Institutional curators have access to a database of items in private collections and can contact the owners directly to request them. Vastari Institutional Members can access over 700,000 works of art in private hands and browse through hundreds of exhibitions that can tour to their venues. Conversely, collectors can digitise their pieces and anonymously share them with museums, as well as accessing a list of requests published by museums and to which they can proactively respond.
Members consist of around 700 private collectors and over 3,000 curators and 600 museums, including 6 of the top 10 most visited museums worldwide.
(3) Kwittken, GFAA Public Relations Agency of Record – Kwittken is one of the fastest growing modern communications agencies in the world. They provide their clients with fresh thinking that creates value through thoughtful and creative communications, and brand engagement.
(5) Baccarat Hotel – Founded in 1764, Baccarat Crystal is a manufacturer of fine crystal glassware located in Baccarat, France. The company owns two museums: the Musée Baccarat in Baccarat, Meurthe-et-Moselle and the Musée Baccarat in Paris on the Place des États-Unis. The first hotel ever opened by this historic brand hosted the GFAA 2016 Finalist Announcement event on October 25 in New York City. The property includes a superb art collection, spanning from the 18th century to the present day, all uniquely suited to Baccarat.
